Digital Forensics for Counsel
AMR assists counsel with digital evidence involving mobile devices, computers, location records, cloud and account data, multimedia, and electronic signatures.
Mobile & Device Forensics
-
We preserve and examine mobile-device evidence and review extraction reports for litigation. Analysis covers communications, application activity, media, location records, account artifacts, and recoverable deleted data. We assess device access and acquisition options at scoping, then document the examination and findings.
-
We reconstruct and test timelines using device, application, vehicle, photograph, cloud, and navigation records. Our analysis reconciles timestamps, locations, and source artifacts so counsel can evaluate a disputed sequence of events. Reports distinguish device-location evidence from conclusions about a person’s identity or conduct.
-
We preserve and examine tablet and e-reader evidence, including communications, documents, media, application activity, account artifacts, and location records. Counsel receives documented findings addressing the questions identified at scoping, with device-access and recovery options assessed before acquisition.
-
We examine drones, controllers, associated applications, media, and flight records to reconstruct routes, timestamps, and operational events. Findings connect flight activity, images, video, and device identifiers to the investigation. We assess the platform and retained records before defining the examination.
-
We compare mobile-device, GPS, application, vehicle, video, and lawfully obtained carrier records around a collision or disputed event. Counsel receives a reconciled activity timeline and an explanation of the underlying artifacts. Device activity is evaluated separately from driver identity and responsibility.
Computer & Data Investigations
-
We preserve computers and storage media through documented forensic acquisition and chain-of-custody procedures. Examination identifies relevant files, communications, user activity, system artifacts, metadata, and deleted-data remnants. Counsel receives a clear record of the evidence examined, findings, and technical basis for the analysis.
-
We investigate disputed electronic signatures by comparing DocuSign envelopes, audit trails, completion certificates, authentication events, access activity, communications, and document history. Counsel receives a reconstructed transaction timeline and documented findings about discrepancies and corroborating records. A signing event or IP address alone does not establish the signer’s identity.
-
We assess authorized access and recovery options for encrypted files, archives, computers, and mobile devices. The examination identifies the technology, credentials, evidence condition, and suitable recovery methods before work begins. Counsel receives a documented assessment of access options and results.
-
We examine original images and source media for file structure, metadata, timestamps, device information, compression history, and editing indicators. Findings explain how those artifacts bear on authenticity and the disputed timeline, with ambiguous or insufficient source information identified in the report.
-
We examine audio and video source files, metadata, timestamps, encoding history, edits, and synchronization. Counsel receives documented findings about authenticity, sequence, and technical consistency. Source quality, compression, and completeness are assessed when defining enhancement and examination work.
Litigation & Defense
-
Our experts explain digital evidence, examination methods, timelines, and technical findings in clear language for depositions, hearings, and trial. Counsel receives documented opinions and the supporting forensic basis, with testimony coordinated around the issues and work defined in the engagement.
-
We provide attorney-directed examination of alleged CSAM images and videos, including count verification, duplicate analysis, classification review, extraction-report assessment, metadata analysis, and expert reporting. Counsel receives a documented explanation of how reported totals and classifications relate to the source evidence. Contact AMR before transferring any suspected material.
-
We work directly with counsel on evidence planning, preservation, targeted acquisition, forensic-report review, technical timelines, metadata analysis, and courtroom demonstratives. Engagements define the consultation, reporting, deposition, and testimony support required for the matter, with clear scope and case coordination.

Fees & engagement. Initial retainers generally begin at $3,500 for state criminal matters and $5,000 for civil or complex federal matters. Retainers are advances toward authorized fees, not flat case prices. Scope, deliverables, billing terms, and any testimony or travel are defined before work begins.
